Sophomore Mother-Son Mass THIS FRIDAY

The sophomore Mother-Son Mass will be held in the chapel this Friday at 7:30 a.m. Please join us for a continental breakfast with your son following the mass. If you would like to attend, please R.S.V.P. to Stephen Baccari at 345-8207 ext. 156 by Thursday afternoon. We are looking forward to seeing you there!

Booster Club Crab Cioppino Dinner:

The Serra Booster Club will host its annual Crab Cioppino Dinner and Dance on Saturday, January 23. This is the social highlight of the year for Serra parents and friends! This event sells out early. Please turn in your reservations as soon as possible.

Notre Dame Night at Serra Hoops!

Come and join us at Serra this Friday night, Dec. 8, to cheer on Padre basketball players and NDB cheerleaders. Admission for all NDB Tigers is $1 with a student ID. Junior Varsity players will take on Mitty at 6 p.m., followed by the Varsity game at 7:30 p.m. Fans will enjoy a special half-time performance by the Notre Dame Varsity Cheerleading Squad.

If you want to be in the lottery for a chance to win a Jungle Game ticket, you have to have a Booster Club season pass. There are no tickets sold for this game. The only way to get a ticket is to win one in the Booster Club lottery for members. Click here to become a Booster Club member TODAY!.

The Parents Education Network will present the College Panel of Students with Learning and Attention Difficulties on Thursday, January 7 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Applying to college or choosing a college for the student with learning and attention difficulties is an important and sometimes difficult and confusing process.  Hear from the experts: college students with learning and attention difficulties.  Our students, all founding members of SAFE Voices will discuss their experiences with:

• Whether and how to disclose a learning disability
• How they determined the best fit and scope of support for their college choices
• What they as student with learning and attention difficulties found when they arrived at college
• How to navigate and manage college life academically  and socially

PCR Parent Portal Update:

When parents and students check on current grades in the PCR Parent Portal, be sure to select Marking Period 2 for recent assignments. Marking Period 1 shows the grades for assignments up to November 6. Marking Period 2 shows grades posted after that date. Semester grades, including final exam grades from the first semester, will be posted on Friday, January 8.

Tuition Assistance for the 2010-2011 School Year

Tuition assistance is available through Junípero Serra High School and the Archdiocese of San Francisco. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION:

Tuition assistance is granted to families who demonstrate financial need. Most families who send their sons to Serra make financial sacrifices. The Tuition Assistance Program is designed to help those families that, even with their sacrifices, are unable to meet the financial obligation.  All families who received tuition assistance for the 2009-2010 school year must reapply for the next school year. An application packet has been mailed to all families currently receiving assistance.

Applications are due February 5, 2010 and must be postmarked no later than that date.
