Dear Serra Families:As we approach graduation, we would like to remind our parents that Serra, Mercy and Notre Dame High Schools do not plan or sanction graduation trips. Although there are several companies that approach students and help them to organize these senior trips, Serra does not support and strongly discourages these trips due to a lack of supervision, which could put our students in precarious situations. Please know that Serra and the Tri-School community do not organize any of these trips.

Senior Mother/Son Mass:The Senior Mother/Son Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 22 in the auditorium. Please remember to R.S.V.P. - we need a head count for food. A special tradition at this event is a PowerPoint presentation consisting of only TWO PICTURES: one of your son when he was a baby or toddler AND a more current photograph, preferably with you in the pictures. In order to expedite and simplify the processing of photographs used in the the presentation, we ask you to please follow the instructions below for submitting your two pictures: Digital/scanned copies of the pictures should be emailed to: madres@serrahs.com. These pictures should be in .jpg file format and not exceed 10mb (file sizes under 3mb are preferred.) We ask that you name your two pictures as follows: For baby photo: lastname_firstname_baby; For current photo: lastname_firstname_current). Pictures do not need to be high resolution for PowerPoint slides. Thank you!
Bookstore Volunteers NeededTo all parents: The Bookstore is in need of parent volunteers for the book buy-back on Tuesday, May 31. Serra Golf Classic Dust off those clubs...the 24th annual Serra Golf Classic will be held on June 20 at the Peninsula Golf & Country Club. All dads, grandpas, uncles and friends are welcome. Educational Travel Meeting TonightAttention Padres: Did you miss out on the educational travel opportunities this year? To France? To Germany? To Peru? Or our nation’s capitol? Would you like to travel abroad during the next school year? If so, then please see Mr. Sullivan or Mr. Ferrando about traveling to Spand and Portugal during spring break of 2012. Mandatory Whooping Cough BoosterA new state law requires all students in grades 7-12 to get a whooping cough booster shot called Tdap before entering school in August. Students who have not received this booster shot on or after their 7th birthday must have the Tdap booster prior to the beginning of the school year or they will not be allowed to start school. We encourage you to contact your child's doctor now to schedule an immunization appointment. The Tdap is a vaccine that will help to keep your child protected from Pertussis, also known as whooping cough, which is widespread throughout California.
Please remember that we must have proof of the Tdap booster sent to us by June 15. Even if you have submitted it in the past, we need proof from your son’s doctor in order to manually update all of our student files.
