Changing the world, one trip at a time.
From the rugged mountains in Appalachia and the verdant strawberry fields of Watsonville to the simple villages of Nicaragua, Serra Padres participate in several immersion trips each year. Building relationships with communities is at the heart of our program. We seek to foster and grow in justice, spirituality, solidarity and community.
Although challenging, the service immersion trips are extremely rewarding. Many Padres say that participating in an immersion trip was one of their best experiences at Serra. The immersion experience enables our students to see the world from a different perspective, while living out the rich tradition of Catholic social teaching.

Nicaragua is a beautiful country. The culture is rich and diverse, and the people are deeply caring. Ironically, the people we believed needed change were the ones who ended up changing us. It was a beautiful and life-altering journey."
