"Once a Padre, always a Padre." The spirit behind this statement distinguishes Serra from all other high schools. Serra is a community of parents, teachers, staff members and alumni dedicated to providing the best high school experience possible for the young men of the San Francisco Bay Area.
Serra is located in the heart of the Peninsula, between San Francisco and Silicon Valley. Our school is much more than an outstanding Catholic college preparatory school for young men. It’s a place where classmates become brothers. Teachers become mentors. Ordinary moments become extraordinary experiences. Each student is valued and knows that he belongs.
Serra offers a rigorous college preparatory curriculum, which includes a rich diversity of classes and an extensive array of AP and Honors courses. Our AP pass rate is 25 points above the national average at 82 percent, and 100 percent of our graduates go on to college. Serra’s curriculum ensures that all of our graduates meet UC and CSU requirements.Members of the Class of 2013 received more than $17 million in college scholarships, with more than 70 percent of students receiving one or more awards.
In 2011, the doors opened to the state-of-the-art Center of the Arts and Sciences. The new center features high-tech science labs, first-rate athletics facilities, professional fine arts studios, a modern music center with recording studios, a cutting-edge aquatics center, and an innovative Academic Resource Center.
Serra welcomes families of all faiths. Teachers help students to explore their talents and achieve success in a variety of places—academics, the arts, athletics, clubs and Christian service—all in the context of our core values of "faith, wisdom, service, community and leadership." Most important, Serra teachers model values that inspire our young Padres to become confident men who will make a difference in the world.
