Dean Ayoob, CAA
Dean Ayoob ’92 is beginning his thirteenth year at Serra, and his fifth year as the school’s Athletic Director. In April 2009, he earned the recognition of Certified Athletic Administrator by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA). Before coming to Serra, Ayoob was the Assistant Athletic Director at Menlo College, where he also taught Sports Marketing. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Kansas, and a master’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Denver. While going to school in Denver, Dean was a marketing intern for Golden Gloves Boxing and for NFLPA certified agent Paul Sheehy. While attending Serra, Ayoob was a member of both the football and baseball teams. Dean was a two-year, two-way starter, earning All County and All-Peninsula honors for the football team. He was also an outfielder on the 1991 WCAL, CCS, and State Championship baseball team. Ayoob coached football for nine seasons with the Padres and has also coached baseball and basketball. He is also the moderator of the Sports Information Club and the Badminton Club. Dean played baseball at Skyline College, where he was named co-captain of the team. Dean has a son, Blake, and lives in San Carlos.

Assistant Athletic Director, Director of Athletic Transportation
John Kirby '95 is beginning his seventh year at Serra, and his fifth year as the school's Assistant Athletic Director. John is a member of the California State Athletic Directors Association, while working on his CAA (Certified Athletic Administrator.) Before returning to Serra, John earned a full academic and athletic scholarship to play football for the University of Hawaii in 1997-1999 as part of a 1999 WAC championship football team and finished his bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Hawaii in 2000. John completed his Physical Education credential in 2009, followed by his master's degree in Education in 2010, both from National University. While at Serra, John was a three-sport athlete in football, basketball, and golf, while maintaining a 3.5 G.P.A. and earned W.C.A.L. all-league honors as a wide receiver as a member of the 1994 Serra football team. John has coached football as a Varsity assistant for the Padres from 2006-2010, and has coached the Freshmen Padres for the last three years. John is also the moderator of the BBQ club and the Crossfit club. John and his wife, Kristine, live in San Mateo and have a daughter, Kaylani.
