CAMPUS GROUNDS AND FACILITIES
Since 2005, Serra has invested $36 million in new construction on its campus. This investment represents a commitment to providing the finest facilities possible for its students. Our science, music, art and athletic facilities are state-of-the-art, allowing our Padres every opportunity to grow in all avenues they wish to pursue. As a result of our construction, many of our facilities have doubled in size. Below are some brief highlights of our improvements over the last fourteen years:
- Mark L. Vorsatz ’72 Athletics Performance Center, featuring the most cutting-edge equipment and innovative technology. This floor-to-ceiling remodel has created a strength and conditioning space that is recognized by equipment company Sorinex as one of the best in Northern California.
- 25,000-square-foot Center for the Arts and Sciences
- Five cutting-edge science labs for biology, chemistry and physics complete with laptops and interactive white boards
- Acoustically-designed band/orchestral rehearsal hall, four music practice rooms, two state-of-the-art recording studios and a performing arts green room
- Two enlarged and fully-equipped art rooms dedicated to painting, drawing, sculpture and ceramics
- A 38-meter, 550,000-gallon infinity pool capable of hosting major swim meets and water polo tournaments
- Aquatics building with both male and female locker room/shower facilities
- A 900-square-foot athletic training room featuring seven training tables, three taping tables and two whirlpools
- All-weather track and turf athletic field for football, soccer, lacrosse and track
- Spectator bleachers and press box for athletic stadium that holds up to 4,000 people
- Large weight room and wrestling mat room housed underneath bleachers
- Baseball grandstands for 500 spectators, varsity clubhouse, and press box adjacent to the baseball field
- Three-story parking structure for 150 vehicles
- An expanded Academic Resource Center, featuring a small-group tutoring classroom and a directed study room
