Four Seniors Make College Commitments on Signing Day
Four members of Serra's senior class signed commitments last week at an on-campus ceremony to compete in college athletics next year. These student-athletes have excelled in the classroom and within their respective sports to reach the next level of competition.

Congratulations to the following seniors:

  • Mike Pechina (wrestling) - Menlo College
  • Michael Churich (football) - UCLA
  • Malakai Rango (football) - Idaho State University
  • EJ Lahlouh (football) - Rice University

Pechina is a four-time CCS qualifier and won the WCAL championship at the 145-pound weight class last Saturday. Churich is a 6'6" defensive end and tight end. He was also recruited by Cal and Cornell. Rango is an electric kick returner and playmaker who totaled 13 receiving and rushing touchdowns in 2018. Lahlouh is a First Team All-WCAL linebacker who also boasts a 4.0 grade point average and a 1520 SAT score. He said that the opportunity to attend Rice, one of the top academic universities in the nation, was too good to pass up.
