U.S. Marine Corps representatives recognized Luke Bottari on November 20 for attending the Battles Won Academy in Washington, D.C. during the past summer. Luke was honored with a special plaque. An additional plaque was presented to the school, which was accepted by Chief Advancement Officer Mike Fadelli.

"Luke Bottari is a selfless and driven young man," said Marine Corps Captain Amanda Bonilla, who was joined by Sergeant Nichole Stoehrer. "While at the Semper Fi-All American Battles Won Academy, Luke distinguished himself by consistently performing with the utmost integrity; he exuded natural leadership ability. His actions highlight the man of character that he is, and also are indicative of the strong foundation and tremendous support he has received from his family and the Serra High School community. On behalf of the United States Marine Corps . . . well done, Luke!"
