Serra Art Classes Visit SF MOMA
It was a beautiful day in downtown San Francisco when Serra's Ceramics and Art 2 classes toured the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, or SF MOMA, the first museum on the West Coast that dedicated strictly 20th Century art.

Students took docent-led tours on February 7 to see the artwork that is also being studied in their art classrooms at Serra. With its internationally recognized collection of modern and contemporary art, students were able to analyze the exhibits with their docent and comment on it as a group.

"This enriching experience will help inspire the art students in their artwork throughout the semester," said Ceramics Teacher Clara Lonardo. "Modern art is valuable to see in person as it pushes us to consider what defines art."

Lonardo said she loves to take students on this field trip.
