Serra Moms Celebrated at the Junior Mother-Son Mass

"There is an endearing tenderness in the love of a mother to a son
that transcends all other affections of the heart."
- Washington Irving

Serra juniors honored their moms last Thursday at the Junior Mother-Son Mass. It was wonderful to see a large turnout of mothers and sons attending Mass together and having breakfast in Mary's Courtyard.

"We really do appreciate the sacrifices you make, and we love you," said student speaker Justin Anderson '21. "As teenagers in high school, we are constantly faced with heavy workloads and stress. Although the pressures of our everyday lives may seem insurmountable at times, the warm presence of our mothers is a constant source of support."

"My mom does everything for me -- she cooks, takes care of us and is always there for us," said Matthew Fadelli '21. "It's pretty cool to see our class come together to celebrate our moms."

"It was very special to see so many familiar faces and to spend the morning with my son," said Matthew's mom, Jen Fadelli.

Fr. Joe Bradley '73 celebrated the Mass. He said Jesus' love is like a mother's love.

"Thank you for entrusting your sons to us and for your ongoing example of Jesus' love," he added.
