Tommy Collins '19 Pursues Construction Management at Cal Poly
Serra senior Tommy Collins '19 will pursue construction management next year at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Collins will follow in his dad's and grandpa's footsteps, who have spent many years in the construction management field.

"It's an exciting and interesting business," Collins noted. "I want to work on commercial buildings in big cities. Cal Poly has a great program for it. I really like their 'learn by doing' motto."

This summer, Tommy hopes to intern for a construction company. He said he will miss his time at Serra, where he was a vital member of the water polo and swim teams, the Democracy Club and the Business Innovation Club. He maintained a 4.2 grade point average while taking five AP classes this year.

"Serra changed me into the man I am today," he said. "I learned the importance of a good work ethic and how to work well with others. I always felt welcomed by the community, and I learned a lot about the Serra brotherhood -- the support and care of our fellow Padres for one another. I've made some of the greatest friends of my life."
