We are proud of our school and we encouraged prospective families to visit our campus so that we can share our incredible programs and overall academic culture that make Serra High School so special.

Below you will find the descriptions of several unique opportunities that we provide for middle school boys and their families to learn more about all that Serra has to offer.

Due to the current COVID restrictions; however, we will now be hosting creative virtual events for students and their parents. We hope you will consider joining us and learning more about our traditional school experience, as well as our focused approach to distance learning and our hybrid model that our students will return to in August.

More information on these events will be released in the coming weeks.

Padre for a Day Eighth Grade Visits

The best way to test the fit is to walk in a Padre's shoes for a day.

Spend a day on campus to experience a typical day-in-the-life of a Serra Padre. Your student host will take you to his classes, introduce you to his friends and teachers, and treat you to lunch.

Your day will include a campus tour and an opportunity to meet student leaders and our Admissions Team. Visits will begin at 8:45 a.m. with a parent and student welcome, and the day will conclude at 2 p.m. If you want to check out our music or drama classes, you’ll need to arrive by 7:55 a.m. -- a bit early, but worth it!

Open House

Open House is designed to introduce middle school boys and their families to all facets of Padre life: academics, activities, athletics and the arts. The afternoon will begin with a general assembly in the auditorium, then our guests will break into tour groups led by current Padres who will be your hosts and share their Serra experiences.

Tours not only highlight our facilities, but also include classroom and chapel presentations from our teaching faculty. Our gym is transformed into an extensive exhibit hall where academic and administrative departments, clubs and athletics teams will have representatives on hand to provide information and answer questions. It’s a great way to learn about our school community, as well as to meet other prospective students and their families.

Join a small group of other parents for a chat with our president or principal, then take a tour of our campus to learn more about what’s happening at Serra.

School leadership sets the tone for a school community. Come spend a morning with our principal or president in the company of a small group of other parents considering a Padre future for their sons.

Learn more about the leadership team’s philosophy of education and vision for the future of Serra. You’ll also take a walk-and-talk tour of our campus with a member of our Admissions Team and a parent ambassador, who brings a unique perspective to the  group.

Walk-Around-Wednesdays are a great way for parents of sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders to get to know us better.

Padre Previews

Our Padre Preview events, geared especially for middle school boys and their parents, are hosted by Serra families in their homes throughout the Peninsula.

Padre Preview evening and weekend gatherings will give you an opportunity to meet with Serra students, teachers and administrators in a welcoming, informal, social setting. You'll learn all about the rigor of our academics, the opportunities presented by our extracurricular programs, and the legendary Serra brotherhood from the people who live it every day. Learn why Serra is the right choice for your son during the transformative years of high school, when character is shaped and foundational values are refined.

The Serra Shadow Program does a very good job of conveying the Padre lifestyle. I was included in conversation, engaged in classes and was treated like a true Padre brother.

Now, as a shadow host this year, I have an opportunity to show off the school that I will forever be a part of while encouraging new students to join us.

My wife and I are ecstatic that our son, Vincent, chose to attend Serra. I experienced the strong Padre brother-hood during my time at Serra, and it's apparent that this bond is still part of the culture. Serra fosters the development of well-rounded men who are active contributors to their communities. There is an environment of challenging academics, spiritual enrichment and creative thinkers. As an alumnus, I am very grateful to have a shared bond with a wide network of fellow Padres whom I can always count on. Go Padres!"
