Isaiah Salinda '15 Qualifies for U.S. Open for Second Consecutive Year

Serra alumnus Isaiah Salinda '15 will compete in the U.S. Open this year after qualifying for the second year in a row. He is one of the three players who qualified out of 64 at the Woodmont Country Club (North) in Rockville, Md. The 2024 men's U.S. Open will take place at Pinehurst No. 2 from June 13-16. Final qualifiers confirmed a host of players, including major champions, tour winners, and several LIV Golfers.

U.S. Open final qualifying is one of the toughest events to advance through. This year’s trek to the U.S. Open started with more than 10,000 entries (10,052 in all), the third time in championship history this threshold has been met. Players advanced to final qualifying from local sites or were exempt into the final stage, which consists of a one-day, 36-hole qualifier to determine who plays for the national championship. Monday is fittingly referred to as Golf’s Longest Day.

Good Luck, Isaiah, and Go Padres!
