Rising sophomore Brian Raghunathan ’27 has been selected by USA Swimming to attend the National Diversity Select Camp at Butler University in June. This camp brings together 55 of the top swimmers from ethnic backgrounds that make up less than 10 percent of USA Swimming athlete memberships. With more than 340,000 athlete members, Brian has been recognized as a standout among his peers.

For the first time, the camp will be hosted in Indianapolis, just days before the 2024 U.S. Team Trials – Swimming at Lucas Oil Stadium. All camp participants will make history as the camp culminates with a trip to the Trials’ opening night, the largest swim meet in history. The National Diversity Select Camp allows swimmers and coaches from diverse backgrounds across the country to experience workouts and training sessions led by decorated leaders in the sport.

The camp's goals include empowering athletes from diverse backgrounds to demonstrate the viability of multicultural success in swimming, achieve performance excellence at every level of the sport, and highlight the benefits and value of participating in swimming. Additionally, participants are encouraged to be positive leaders and role models for others from multicultural backgrounds.

Congratulations, Brian, and Go Padres!
