James Outman '15 Hits Two-Run Home Run in First Major-League At-Bat
Padre alumnus James Outman '15 hit a two-run home run in his first major-league at-bat, and added two more hits and an RBI in the Dodgers' 7-3 victory at Colorado this past Sunday. Outman is just the eighth Dodger to hit one out in his initial plate appearance, and the 130th major leaguer overall.
"It was cool," said Outman, a San Carlos native who grew up a Giants fan. "It took me about four innings to settle in. I was pretty nervous out there. It took me a while for the nerves to go away, and they're still kind of lingering after that."
At least eight family members, including Outman's parents and his fiancée, were there, the Los Angeles Times reported.
