Substitute Coordinator/Substitute Teacher

Responsibilities:        

  • Organize the substitution plan for all teachers who require class coverage
  • Assign all substitutions to available teachers 
  • Provide all substitute teachers with substitution instructions, lesson plans, and attendance sheets
  • Substitute classes 
  • Utilize efficient classroom management skills when substituting
  • Provide feedback to substitute teachers regarding their performance and classroom management skills
  • Generate, assemble, and maintain all substitution documentation
  • Assemble and post internal daily faculty absence & substitution assignment sheets
  • Track all monthly payroll and contract compliance for all substitutes
  • Serve as lead or assistant proctor for all standardized testing
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or supervisor

Desired background:

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Prior experience with LMS or SID software preferred
  • Single-Subject Teaching Credential (California) preferred
  • Previous experience working with high school level students, such as tutoring or childhood development, preferred
