Cory Syme has come a long way from the shy freshman that first stepped on campus at Serra. In fact, overcoming his shy demeanor is one of the things he is most proud of.
“My greatest accomplishment is shedding my shyness and becoming very social with my Padre brothers,” Cory said.
Cory will attend University of Oregon in the fall, where he hopes to study business management. At Serra, Cory was a yell leader senior year, a Kairos leader, member of the Encounter Team and assists with social media and the Serra website. During his freshman year, Cory founded the Photography Club. Cory also played on the tennis team for three years.
His time at Serra has been busy, but memorable, Cory said.
“Serra has shaped me into the man I am today by being open to new things and being involved in my community and creating relationships with others,” Cory said.
One memory that Cory will keep close is wearing a gorilla suit at sporting events and being a part of the school rallies. He holds the brotherhood dear to his heart and hopes that Serra will maintain its timeless traditions.
To his family, “Thank you for all the love and support you have given me throughout my life.”
Congratulations on all your achievements, Cory! University of Oregon is lucky to have you!
