Joseph Torrey

Congratulations to Joseph Torrey, who will attend University of California at Berkeley this fall and plans to study nuclear engineering.

Joseph had a very well-rounded experience at Serra, with time spent in all areas including theater, sports and clubs.

Joseph was in Boy Scouts of America Scouting, Mock Trial and Robotics all four years, stage crew sophomore year through senior year and Serranaders junior and senior year. He was on the track team sophomore through senior year and ran cross country as a junior and senior. During his senior year, Joseph was also involved in Safe Space and the Democracy Club.

“Attending Serra has allowed me to meet so many great people that have had an immense influence on my modern self,” he said. “There's something about collective experience that really brings like-minded people together.”

Joseph said that all of his teachers at Serra have been instrumental in helping to foster his personal and educational growth. If he had to choose one single subject as his favorite it would be French. “While I did not continue to AP French, the time that I spent in that class was very memorable and good.”

To his family, Joseph is grateful for their guidance.

“Thanks so much for supporting me on my high school journey and hopefully beyond.”

All the best at Cal, Joseph! Best of luck with all you do there!
