Luke Besse

Luke Besse will always remember the days on the court, with his volleyball buddies. A four-year volleyball team member, Luke said one his most memorable accomplishments was “winning CCS with my volleyball team and advancing to the NorCal finals.”

Luke is heading to College of San Mateo this fall to begin his studies in biology.

“In ten years I see myself being in a lab doing research after getting a degree in biology,” he said.

His desire to study biology was likely identified through his coursework at Serra, specifically in Dr. Tara Mann’s class.

“My favorite teacher is Dr. Mann and her Disease and Human Physiology class,” Luke said. “It was such a fun time doing labs and learning about the human body and the diseases that affect it. Dr.Mann was always making creative lessons that were always engaging to be a part of.

Luke said that Serra has taught him that there is a place for everyone.

“It has also taught me that a Padre isn’t just a singular being, it is a community that supports each other.”

Luke would like to thank his personal support team for the successes he has achieved.

“I want to thank everyone who has helped me succeed through my education, from elementary school through high school. I would like to especially thank my parents as they are the ones who are always there for me and act as my support net.”

Congratulations, Luke! All the best in your future!
