Shane Ivich scored a scholarship to play soccer for the University of Puget Sound this fall and in a decade he said he hopes to be playing pro soccer in the United States.
A four-year varsity soccer player, Shane said his favorite Serra memory was actually on the basketball court and not the soccer field, when in his sophomore year, “we hit a 3 to win the Jungle Game my sophomore year.”
Serra has taught him a lot both on and off the field, he said.
“Serra taught me discipline and hard work ethic,” Shane said.
In college, Shane said he wants to study sports medicine and business.
Shane said he is grateful for his supportive family. “I would like to thank my family for always having my back and pushing me to be the best man I can be,” he said.
He is also thankful for the Serra teachers and staff that helped him during his four years. He said his favorite teacher is Mr. Pometta because he made Spanish fun and interesting.
All the best at University of Puget Sound, Shane! Congratulations on your graduation and your dream of playing collegiate soccer!
