Tavita Tuiasosopo is off to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, this fall to study Kinesiology, and who knows, in 10 years, you might find Tavita working with Duke and the training staff at Serra or owning a food truck.
Tavita worked as a student athletic trainer for four years at Serra, played football freshman and sophomore year and was a member of the BBQ Club his freshman and sophomore year as well.
According to Tavita, “Serra gave me structure when I needed it most. It gave me people I can call my brothers for life.” His favorite Serra memories are connected with the Jungle Game, his favorite was “SI blowing a 20-point lead.”
Tavita said his greatest accomplishment occurred when he was just a kid. “My greatest accomplishment is successfully eating a Big Mac, A Filet-O-Fish, a 20-piece McNuggets, large Fries, and an Oreo McFlurry at the age of 4.”
When asked what teacher influenced Tavita most at Serra, he simply answered, “loved them all.”
His favorite inspirational quote is, “Sometimes life is like this dark tunnel. You can't always see the light at the end of the tunnel, but if you just keep moving... you will come to a better place.”
Congratulations, Tavita! We know you will continue to find that bright light! All the best at UNLV!
