Tyler Shaw ‘20 will be playing baseball at Claremont-McKenna College this fall, one of Serra’s student athletes to be signed in 2019 by the highly selective liberal arts schools in Los Angeles.
Tyler played shortstop on Serra’s Varsity Baseball Team. He has thoroughly enjoyed his time at Serra, from his time on the field to his learning in the classroom, particularly in Mr. Goyette’s AP government class. Math always came easy to Tyler, and hopes to major in Economics at Claremont-McKenna.
Tyler said he will never forget the Jungle Game his freshman year, a tradition that served as an introduction to the memorable years he enjoyed as a Serra Padre.
“Serra has taught me lifelong lessons about leadership and brotherhood that I will never forget,” Tyler said.
Tyler said he is extremely grateful to his friends, coaches, siblings, and teammates, but most of all his parents.
“They do everything for me and one day, I'll find a greater way to thank them because they deserve it,” Tyler said. “They've always given me everything and I should probably be more appreciative. I love you and I am so lucky to have you as my parents.”
Congratulations to Tyler for his incredible achievements!
