The sky’s the limit for Zachary West, who is headed to University of Nevada, Reno, this fall to study mechanical engineering.
Zachary’s favorite quote is, "You miss 100 percent of the shots you don't take," a quote closely aligned with Zachary’s mission to be working for NASA, or SpaceX or Boeing in the next decade.
“My goal is to be doing something that has to do with space,” He added, “Hopefully making good money as well.”
Zachary played Serra lacrosse all four years, was a big brother and a member of Encounter his junior and senior year respectively. While at Serra, Zachary said he one of the highlights was in meeting his lifelong friends.
His experience at Serra has shaped him into the man he is today, in various ways, he said.
“Serra has done many things to shape me into the man I am today. Just growing in positive ways has been all that I could ask for,” he said.
His favorite memories include the annual Jungle Game. “It’s just a time to be proud of being a Padre,” he added.
Getting into college, and having the opportunity to further his education stand to date as his most proud accomplishments, but Zachary said it wasn’t without the reinforcement from his family.
“I want to thank all of my family members and friends who have pushed me to be my best. I believe that I have lived up to their expectations, and I hope to keep making them proud,” he said.
Best of luck in all your future endeavors, on Earth or in another galaxy! Congratulations on all of your accomplishments!
