Murphy Music Camps
Murphy Music Camps offer a one-of-a-kind experience that cannot be found anywhere else on the Peninsula!
Serra is proud to offer four music camps on its campus, led by the award winning team of Joe and Sara Murphy. Together, with their engaging staff, they will lead the Band, Orchestra, Choir and Digital Music Video camps.
Camp Offerings:
Digital Music and Video Camp for students ages 8 to 15
Dates: August 4-8
Time: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Cost: $750 | $700 if between 2/1 and 3/31 ($50 materials fee included in tuition)
Murphy Music Camps is welcoming young music creatives interested in producing their own music videos to its Digital Music and Video Camp from July 28-August 1 at Serra High School in San Mateo. Campers will learn the art of videography, storyboarding and scripting from scratch. Campers will also learn to compose music using GarageBand, where they will create soundtracks to accompany their short films. No experience necessary.
A screening of campers work will take place in the music room on august 8 at 1:30 p.m.
Let’s get back to Band and Orchestra Camp for students ages 8 to 15
Dates: July 28 - August 1
Time: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Cost: $750 | $700 if between 2/1 and 3/31
Campers are invited to work in new group settings joining other musicians to play in band and orchestra. This camp is designed to get the kids playing again after a long summer of trips and not a ton of musical opportunities. After this camp, your child will return to their school music programs in the fall refreshed and excited to join their bands and orchestras again. Campers, who will meet at Serra High School, will perform in small chamber ensembles and larger band/orchestra groups.
This camp is designed for students entering fifth through 10th grades with at least one year of instrument experience. there will be a performance on august 1 at 1:30 p.m.
Choir Camp for students ages 8 to 15
Dates: August 4-8
Time: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Cost: $750 | $700 if between 2/1 and 3/31
Choir Camp is one that your upper-elementary and middle school student will not want to miss! This all-day, one-of-a-kind camp is led by Mrs. Sara Murphy and blends technique, sight-singing skills, jazz and a cappella with traditional choir and audition preparation. Camp takes place on the Serra High School campus. No experience necessary.
