The Serra Golf Classic
The Serra Golf Classic is the primary funding source for the Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, providing vital financial assistance to deserving young men who seek a Serra education. Your support as a sponsor, player, or in-kind donor helps us meet the needs of families who depend on tuition assistance. A portion of the funds also supports the William P. Ahern '71 Alumni Board Scholarship Award, given to an outgoing senior each spring to help fund his first year of college tuition.
The Serra Golf Classic is about more than winning a trophy. It is about community, brotherhood, and supporting the Padre Family. Last year's tournament raised more than $50,000, and our goal for the 38th Annual is to build on that success and carry the tradition Always Forward.
This year's tournament takes place at the Half Moon Bay Golf Links Old Course, an American Parkland classic designed by Arnold Palmer and Francis Duane that opened in 1973. The course features challenging dog-legs, multiple water hazards, and tree-lined fairways that reward the strategic player over the long hitter, and has hosted numerous U.S. Open Qualifiers. The round closes on the signature 18th hole, a 405-yard par four repeatedly ranked among the best finishing holes in golf, set against the blue Pacific and capping every round with a view worthy of the occasion.
